Recipe of the Week:

Simple Homemade Stir Fry

Servings: 4

Calories per Serving: 350

Prep and Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Introducing the Simple Homemade Stir Fry: a quick, nutritious meal for busy entrepreneurs. With fresh ingredients and customizable protein options, it provides a convenient, energy-boosting solution. Simplify mealtime and fuel your entrepreneurial journey with ease.


  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (such as canola or sesame)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and minced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 carrots, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 bell pepper (any color), sliced into thin strips
  • 1 broccoli crown, cut into florets
  • 1 cup snow peas, trimmed
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 1 block of firm tofu or your choice of protein (chicken, shrimp, or tofu), cubed
  • 3-4 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles (for serving optional)


Prepare the Ingredients:

  1. Mince the garlic and ginger.
  2. Slice the onion, carrots, bell pepper, and mushrooms (if using).
  3. Cut the broccoli into florets and trim the snow peas.

Cook the Protein (Tofu, Chicken, or Shrimp):

  1. If using tofu, drain and press it to remove excess moisture. Cut into cubes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the protein (tofu, chicken, or shrimp) and cook until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables:

  1. In the same skillet, add the remaining oil.
  2. Add the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the sliced onion and carrots. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften.

Add More Veggies:

  1. Add the bell pepper, broccoli florets, snow peas, and mushrooms (if using).
  2. Continue stir-frying for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp. You can cover the skillet to help steam the veggies if needed.

Combine Protein and Sauce:

  1. Return the cooked protein to the skillet with the vegetables.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce and honey (if using).
  3. Pour the sauce over the stir-fry and toss everything together. Adjust the sauce to taste and add salt and pepper if needed.


  1. Serve the vegetable stir-fry over cooked rice or noodles.
  2. Garnish with fresh herbs, sesame seeds, or a drizzle of sesame oil if desired.
  3. Enjoy your homemade Back to Basics Vegetable Stir-Fry, a nutritious and satisfying meal that celebrates the simplicity and goodness of fresh ingredients!

Back to Basics – Nurturing Your Inner Foundation

Welcome to this guided meditation on returning to the basics and nurturing your inner foundation. Find a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lie down, where you won’t be disturbed. Close your eyes and take a few deep, cleansing breaths.

Centering Yourself

Begin by focusing your attention inward. Feel the weight of your body on the surface beneath you. Take a moment to ground yourself in this present moment, leaving behind any distractions or worries.

Embracing Simplicity

Imagine a space of pure simplicity, a serene and uncluttered environment. Picture it in your mind’s eye. This space represents the essence of “Back to Basics.” It’s a place where complexity fades away, and you’re left with the core elements of life.

Breathing Mindfully

Now, turn your awareness to your breath. Inhale deeply through your nose, counting to four, and exhale slowly through your mouth, also counting to four. Feel the gentle rise and fall of your chest and abdomen with each breath. As you breathe in, visualize simplicity entering your being, and as you exhale, imagine releasing any unnecessary complexities.

Exploring Your Inner Foundation

In this serene space of simplicity, imagine a strong and stable foundation. This foundation represents your inner self, your values, and your core beliefs. Visualize it as a solid, unshakable structure. Take a moment to reflect on your own inner foundation. What are your core values? What truly matters to you in life?

Letting Go of Excess

As you continue to breathe mindfully, picture any unnecessary complications or distractions as objects around you. These could be represented by clutter or noise in your mental space. One by one, let go of these distractions and watch as they disappear, leaving you with a clear and unburdened mind.

Reconnecting with Your Needs

Now, focus on your basic needs. Reflect on whether you are meeting them adequately. Are you nourishing your body with proper nutrition? Are you getting enough rest? Are you engaging in regular physical activity and mental exercise?

Setting Intentions

Think about how you can return to these basics in your daily life. Set an intention to prioritize your well-being by making small, sustainable changes to meet your fundamental needs.


Take a moment to express gratitude for the simplicity and clarity you’ve found in this meditation. Feel a sense of peace and contentment as you embrace the basics of life.

Returning to the Present

When you’re ready, gently bring your awareness back to the present moment. Wiggle your fingers and toes, and slowly open your eyes.

Remember that simplicity and the basics are the foundation upon which we build our lives.
